Is it really cheaper to buy, own and operate an Astoria rather than FIA?

In many cases, there are several cost advantages of Astoria’s µ-SFA over FIA. For instance, you will use far less reagents, thereby not only reducing the frequency of orders but also the quantities of reagent being ordered. Our analyzers won’t produce as much waste, thereby reducing disposal costs. Moreover, you will potentially save money on various components and parts: For instance, the dilutor is an option for our systems; however, FIA would need a diluter just to match the expanded range capabilities of our systems without a diluter. Also, the injection valves of FIA often require regular, expensive replacement–up to $1,100 per valve and as often as every 24 months!
